April 15th -
The lake is now open for business. Now if we can just get the Prissel family to jump in and warm it up for us.
Top 10 reasons to live at Richmond Lake
(in no particular order)
10. Who wants to pay city taxes.
9. Privacy. Lake dwellers understand the virtues of no front or back yard neighbor. Not that we don't love people, but the less of them the better.
8. Fish. Their taste is inversely proportional to the amount of time they've traveled in a vehicle.
7. Tubing. If you haven't tubed in a while, isn't it about time? Always wear a life jacket.
6. Multiple routes to town, dependent on where you want to land in Aberdeen. Take that, Mina Lake.
5. Cell phone reception is spotty. Hey, if your phone doesn't ring, you don't have to answer.
4. Boats and docks and summertime.
3. Steak night. Among other things going on at the Richmond Oasis.
2. 4th of July Bash. A Richmond Lake tradition, including fireworks, boat parade, and several over-the-top yard parties to choose from.
1. The water. Provides residents with countless benefits both recreational and aesthetic. Yeah, it gets green in late summer. But it keeps out the riff-raff.
